The scenic peak of Palenica is a popular destination both in winter and summer. In winter, it's an ideal destination for skiers, including the Palenica 1 trail – one of the most interesting ski trails in Poland.
In summer, it's a wonderful destination for hikes along the Pieniny trails (Durbaszka, Wysoka, Jaworki, Homole) and a vantage point offering a picturesque panorama of the Pieniny Mountains, including Trzy Korony and Sokolica, as well as the Slovak Tatras.
From Szczawnica, the summit (722 m) can be reached by popular chairlift or by foot along a marked trail that begins at the parking lot next to the lower chairlift station. At the summit, you'll find the "Groń" mountain hut, catering options, and a gravity slide.
